Art in the park

A full six hours of fun, food, and fine art, Art in the park draws more people to Dinosaur Caves Park than any other event.

Organizer Shannon Len presents serious shoppers and those who enjoy "just looking" with an outstanding variety of quality artists, both amateur and professional. Everyone who attends gets the rare opportunity to see offerings of over seventy local artists and craftsmen talented local weavers, wood carvers, glass blowers, painters, potters, needleworkers, jewelry makers and other artists all in one place. Both children and adults (even teens!) enjoy watching artists at work and then trying their own artistic skills at demonstration and crafts tables provided.

Food and music are an integral part of the festivities. Soloists and small bands provide family oriented music while local restaurants and B-B-Qers make finger lickin' food and tasty drinks, including a selection of freshly made coffees and snacks. If the shopping wears you out, a massage tent is available on one of the Park's beautiful blufftop overlooks.

Now in its second year, Art in the Park has been a success from opening day in the Spring of 2004, growing larger every month. Quality art and brisk sales have meant happy visitors and vendors alike. Designed to promote local artists, the enthusiastic attendance is now drawing artists from as far away as Santa Barbara.

Once Dinosaur Caves Park is finished to provide more room for exhibits, there are those that believe Art in the Park will become the premier art event on the central coast. It's on its way! Come see and enjoy.
